I'm sorry I've been a bit quiet of late. I have been busy setting up my new business, and time has just kind of got away from me. We've also had visitors over the last two weeks, so everything has been a bit manic. I'm also busy preparing for some upcoming craft fairs, which will be my first!!
Anyway, in this post I wanted to tell you all about Jelly rolls. I am a bit in love with Moda jelly rolls. I have been setting myself the little challenge of seeing how many things I can make with 1 jelly roll. I've purchased several in the last couple of months.
I've had S'more Love, from which I've managed to make 1 quilt top using a pattern from Fat Quarter Shop, 1 cushion cover, a small child's bag and 6 pencil cases! Plus I have some strips left over! Now, I don't know about you but I don't think that's bad going.
From a Floral Gatherings jelly roll I have so far made a very large handbag and 3 table runners plus an assortment of bookmarks.
From a Soho Chic Jelly roll I have made made 5 handbags and 3 cosmetic bags.
And finally, from a Chantilly Jelly roll I have so far made a quilt top and a table runner, 2 handbags (still in progress) and still have plenty left.
They're so versatile and a great way of being able to use a whole range of fabrics. I've got 4 more jelly rolls to play with too and am looking forward to getting stuck into sewing with them.
I'd love to know what you all think of jelly rolls and what you like to do with them. Some of the above items are for sale on my Facebook page. Sonja's Stitchery or on my Handmade in the UK shop
